Real Disney Character Faces by Avalonis Real Disney Character Faces by Avalonis
These are what Disney characters would look like if they were real. Lots of references (see if you can spot some famous features). Lots of manipulations and perfecting until I got the right features and made them real enough looking.

If some don't look exactly like the characters, well cut me some slack, there's not a lot of people out there that look like some of the more ridiculously proportioned Disney characters (Hercules, Cruella, villains etc). Also, I made them as realistic as possible. See if you can guess who is who...
If not....

From top left to right, then next rows:
Rapunzel, Flynn Rider, Mother Gothel, Tiana, Charlottle LaBouffe, Esmeralda, Frollo, Quasimodo, Giselle, Jane, Tarzan,
Cinderella, Belle, Prince Adam (The Beast), Gaston, Jafar, Mulan, Alice, Jasmine, Aladdin, Aurora, Prince Philip, Maleficent, Cruella Deville, Meg, Hercules, Pocahontas, Snow White, The Evil Queen, Ariel, Prince Eric, Ursula

Hope you enjoy. Comments are appreciated.

***Update: Check out the work of Ian Armstrong, from Imperative Ideas, who created a VERY cool interactive map of these characters:

Awesome job! Every one of them is beautiful and handsome. Although I wished you went for the really red hair on Ariel.

Yes. In fact there's an actress that is an exact look a like of Jane from Tarzan, but I don't remeber her name. Although I have always thought of her as a young Julie Andrews.

All the girls look exactly the same...what does that say about Disney?
Even those 'culturally diverse' (Mulan, Esmeralda, Tiana, Jasmine, Pocahontas) have only this slightest differences that might reveal they are not white. I mean, even just looking at skin tone; the only one that isn't pink fleshy tone is Mulan.
tryanmax Featured By Owner Mar 14, 2014
It says more about Avolonis's interpretation of what Disney has produced. Follow the interactive map link where the picture flips between the rendering and the original. Some aren't even close. I'm not saying there aren't any Disney ladies who look alike. Snow White, Cinderella, Aurora, and Belle all look quite alike, as do Rapunzel and the Frozen sisters (but I'm willing to cut some slack there as they are still learning the CGI technology at Disney). As to the rest, the Disney animators have gone to great lengths to create different looks and styles for their female characters.

A perfect example, Jane from "Tarzan" has what are sometimes called down turned eyes. The rendering does not. In fact, as a general thing, the "eyes" have it. There is quite a range of variety in the eye shapes and sizes between the Disney ladies, but Avolonis has chosen to render them all nearly the same.

Also, keep in mind that most of the Disney ladies are meant to be quite young--teens in many cases. In real life, younger faces have smoother and fewer features to begin with. Cartooning is a necessarily simplified artform, leaving out many features, as well. Aside from varying shapes, the only way to add distinction is to increase the number of marks on the face, which in cartooning, is a sign of age.

Are there some looks that have gone unrepresented? Sure. We haven't seen any fat Disney princesses--though in a world treating obesity like leprosy, that won't happen. Speaking of leprosy, we haven't seen any disfigured Disney women, but that's just plain unlikely. Beyond extremes, the possible variety becomes much more subtle.

But people will see what they want to see. It's become accepted fact that Disney regards women as interchangeable, so people will ignore all the features (not to mention personality traits) that make each of the female Disney characters unique and perceive them as featureless clones. But that doesn't speak to Disney's perceptions.
